The Printed Garden is a collaboration with Oxfordshire’s Waterperry Gardens.

These images are a deep dive into the world of cyanotype toning. For these images I used my garden as an extension of the studio – the sun to expose the prints, rain water to wash them and garden flowers and foliage to further tone the images away from the blue, into indigos and browns.

Because of the changeable nature of the weather, the variability of plant matter, humidity, water pH and temperature etc. each printed image is unique with its own distinct character. This is why it was so important to me to make these images of Waterperry outside in the garden, with the garden now embedded in the prints.
